Not all world citizens are treated equally. One way we might think about measuring inequality in the value of a person’s citizenship is by the number of countries in which they can freely travel. This data set contains information on the global reach of national passports for 199 countries. Data identify the number of countries in which each passport is granted visa free travel, a visa on arrival, and the number of countries in which each passport is welcomed by destination countries. The data were downloaded from https://www.passportindex.org/byIndividualRank.php on April 11, 2016 using the following R scraper package (https://github.com/sdorius/passportr).
